Last night, i did detach and reattach the host to the cpap machine and felt around the humidifier tube to the mask and found no leaks.
The resmed elite manual says it's possible you have experienced excessive high leak levels during sleep The manual recommends to check that your air tubing is properly connected to your cpap machine and mask, and to also check that your mask doesn't have high leaks. Replace tubing today did not help I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your machine

I don't know how the machine detects a leak, or how sensitive it is, but i would imagine a tablespoon of water would be enough to alert the machine to a leak.
